Requirements

 

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree or higher, with a major in language, literature, or education preferred.
  • Certificate: A Teacher Qualification Certificate, TKT, TESOL, or CELTA is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a primary school or children’s education institution.
  • Preferred: Experience with Student-Centered Learning (SCL), Project-Based Learning (PBL), IB, and/or Science Technology Engineering Art and Mathematics (STEAM) curriculum design.

 

Responsibilities & Details

 

  • Student Age: 5-12 years old (Kindergarten to Grade 6).
  • Teaching Load: Teachers typically instruct one or two grades.
  • Class Size: Up to 22 students.
  • Contact Hours: 18-22 class hours per week, with each teaching period lasting 45 minutes.
  • Working Hours: School hours are from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday. Individual working hours vary based on the teaching schedule.
  • Curriculum: ETU School’s unique curriculum is based on Common Core Standards and taught through Project-Based Learning (PBL). We are a member of the IPC (International Primary Curriculum) Community. Students take a MAP Growth test each semester to assess their literacy level.
  • Training: Onboarding and ongoing professional development in ETU’s pedagogical practices are provided.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Teaching Management

  • Design, develop, and implement curriculum for the main subject (English) and interdisciplinary activities.
  • Actively participate in research-based discussions on progressive pedagogical practices.
  • Serve as a pedagogical advocate by occasionally delivering workshops for colleagues, parents, and the wider ETU network.

Class Management

  • Maintain class order and provide childcare during non-teaching activities, including morning sessions, discussions, snack breaks, field trips, and recess.
  • Record and present student learning and behavior via the ETU App.
  • Communicate proactively with parents, including organizing regular parent interviews with the class teaching team and providing timely feedback on student development.
  • Positively guide students’ emotions and behaviors, and cooperate with the team to manage emergency situations.
